The Venue

For those of you who would prefer a private retreat experience, either individually or with one other person, Coco’s Country Cottage, in the Byron Hinterland, will make your heart sing.

You will unwind and nurture your mind, body, and soul, in stylish, tranquil surroundings, and feel as though you are a world away but know you are only a short drive from Byron’s stunning beaches and the boutique shops and cafes of the historic Bangalow Village.

Coco’s accommodation also offers exquisite culinary delights and sublime relaxation in this little piece of paradise.

This stylishly restored 1890’s fully self contained cottage is a ‘ONE ONLY’ and is totally private surrounded by abundant bird life and a lush tropical environment with stunning rural views.

The Cuisine

mealFor those of you staying at Coco’s, Janice and Kevin Pickles, who have 25 years experience in running their own restaurants, will prepare all your meals, with great love, using the best produce sourced from the Byron Bay Farmers Market; they go direct to the farmers and buy what is at its best, what is in season, and organic when it is available. In a world of convenience, most modern-day, western foods are void of any nutritional value and goodness.  Janice and Kevin know how to use what you eat to balance out your system and nourish your mind, body and spirit – how food is “medicine”.

 Sample Menus
Breakfast Breakfast eggs - asian-style

Gluten free bircher muesli with seasonal fruit
Poached eggs smoked trout and wilted spinach with hollandaise sauce
Soft scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and gluten free bread
Fruit salad (not everyone likes a heavy breakfast!) with dairy free yoghurt
Selection of breads with sugar free preserves
Frittata with goats cheese balsamic mushrooms roasted tomatoes and herbs from our garden
Vegeree… like Kedgeree only without the fish, basmati rice mixed with Asian greens/herbs topped with soft boiled eggs

Lunch lunch 1

Smoked trout &mixed (seasonal) greens and sprouts salad, with roasted beetroot and nuts
Quinoa salad with roasted vegetables and herbs
Sandwich platters
Seared turmeric chicken with kale, humus and roasted capsicum
Wholemeal (or gluten free) pasta with broccoli, chilli and lemon
Lamb kebab wraps, grilled lamb with salad and tzatziki in a wrap
Seared tuna, couscous and greens salad
Rice salad with chickpeas and olives and greens, tahini/lemon dressing

Dinner lunch

Middle eastern lamb tagine with couscous/quinoa, seasonal green veg with almonds
Thai red fish curry with rice and seasonal greens
Spanish chicken thigh cutlets with chorizo, olives and cherry tomatoes on a bed of greens
Lentil, sweet potato and green veg soup, with crusty bread/gluten free option
Fillet of beef with red wine jus balsamic beetroot rosemary potatoes and caramelised pumpkin
Lamb cutlets roasted red onion tabouli and eggplant
Chickpea and Eggplant Sri Lankan curry with basmati rice
Saffron risotto with braised fennel preserved lemon and Yamba Prawns

Your five-day, four-night Byron Bay Sugati retreat experience includes:

**Greeting the new day from Australia’s most easterly point, Cape Byron

**Exploring the Byron hinterland, including the gorgeous village of Bangalow, Protester Falls, Rocky Creek Dam, Mullumbimby, or the Tweed River Art Gallery at Murwillumbah
**Or, just relax on the beach or by the pool!

*Only one person is required for the Retreat to proceed at Coco’s . The maximum number of people is two.

Travel insurance – highly recommended, as refunds will not be made.
Extras – you are more than welcome to add in additional treatments or activities from the above offerings, and your overall Retreat cost will be increased accordingly.

A little bit about Sue sd4
Sue Dowling is a health and life coach, meditation instructor, fitness trainer, nutrition coach, and teacher, with 25 years experience. After an ovarian cancer diagnosis in December 2013, Sue spent a lot of time reflecting, reading and learning; her journey of healing also led her to an inspiring naturopath, and an amazing acupuncturist. With their help, and an inner “knowing”, Sue came to the realisation and understanding that the challenge of cancer was presenting her with the perfect opportunity to grow and let fear go – and get on with living life. Sue knows her purpose in life is teaching, and she is passionate about guiding as many people as she can to a life unbound by limiting self beliefs. She now works with people locally and globally, individually and in small group retreat settings, helping each one of them unlock the disempowering beliefs that are preventing them from being the authentic shining souls, living free, that they really are.

Sue is currently based in Canberra, and runs coaching sessions, meditation classes and fitness sessions at her studio, Body Wisdom – Centre for Peace and Wellbeing. When she’s not working, Sue and her incredible partner spend as much time as they can in Byron Bay and Thredbo, go camping, cycling, walking, boogie boarding…anything that connects them with nature.
